You don’t have to go far for fun this July school break – there’s sports, craft, cooking, acting, public speaking, puppet shows, robot making, rock music camp, and the amazing Winterland Festival with ice skating, rides and more…

Winterland, North Sydney

It’s the local arrival everyone is talking about! This July, St Leonards Park is being transformed into a winter wonderland for the school holidays with a huge crystal outdoor ice skating rink and snow slide. There will be skating sessions throughout the day and evening, and learn-to-skate lessons at 9am on Saturday mornings.

The 17-day winter festival opens on the evening of Friday July 6 with an ice show, featuring some of Australia’s best skaters. There will also be an opportunity to see experienced skaters during the session changeovers. Off the ice, Winterland provides activities for the young and young-at-heart, including rides on traditional favourites such as a Ferris Wheel and carousel. An Alpine food village, with outdoor heaters, will sell traditional European treats, including German hot dogs, Dutch pancakes and hot chocolate.

North Sydney Mayor Jilly Gibson said Council was delighted to be partnering with Stars on Ice to bring the event to the local area. “Ice skating is a fantastic activity that people of all ages can enjoy and I am sure our local families will be keen to include it in their holiday schedule. But you won’t have to skate to enjoy Winterland, the lights, food and rides will make it a magical day or evening out for everyone.”
