Brush your teeth twice a day
It’s important to build healthy dental habits while children are young. Use a soft toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste to brush little teeth once in the morning and once at night before bed.
Don’t forget to floss
Teaching your children to floss is important to remove plaque build up between the teeth. Try to make this fun for your children by doing it together. You can make silly faces or play their favourite songs to keep their excitement high.
Change your toothbrush every three months
A worn toothbrush will not be effective in removing plaque. Regularly check to see if the bristles on your child’s toothbrush look worn.
Limit sugary drinks and snacks
A healthy diet is equally important in keeping young children’s teeth healthy. Fill your child’s plate with lots of fruits and vegetables and try to limit sugary drinks. A glass of water or milk is much healthier alternative for young teeth!
