Bundlfresh is revolutionising food delivery by offering customers the option to select quality items from their local butcher, greengrocer, bakery, deli and more. It’s a clever way to support our small businesses and offer convenience for the community!
If you love shopping and supporting local businesses but need the convenience of home delivery, Bundlfresh is your answer. The business was launched on the Northern Beaches in April 2019 by founders, Matthew and Anna Russell, and was inspired by their experiences running a small successful seafood business in Bayview called Prawn Pod.
“Customers would often ask do we do home delivery, but for a small fresh food business, it’s just too hard and expensive,” Matthew explains. “So, the idea of creating a co-operative network of local food vendors and enabling customers to ‘bundle’ multiple vendors into a single order was born. Hence the name, Bundlfresh!”
Ordering is easy via the Bundlfresh website, and delivery can be as early as the next day!
How Does Bundlfresh Work?
- Start by creating your Bundle from any combination of the vendors and their amazing, local produce.
- Each local producer, providore and retailer then prepares their part of the Bundle for pick up on the morning of delivery.
- The final bundle is consolidated and delivered to your door at your selected date and time, Monday to Saturday, between 12pm and 8pm. All orders made before 11pm are eligible for next-day delivery and all orders over $50 receive free delivery.
As part of their sustainability commitment, Bundlfresh compiles all parts of your order into re-usable crates, and encourages vendors to reduce plastic packaging wherever possible.
“We pride ourselves on the quality of the vendors, their produce and good old-fashioned customer service,” Matthew says.
To date, the team has delivered more than 200,000 local vendor orders to suburbs across the Northern Beaches, all the way from Palm Beach to Manly.
Bundlfresh North Shore launched just last month, opening the service up to nearly 200 suburbs including Mosman, Hunters Hill, Waitara and everywhere inbetween.
“We now have more than 100 local fresh food businesses on Bundlfresh across the North Shore and Northern Beaches, and new vendors are being added every week,” Matthew says.
There are local businesses to supply everything from meats and fresh produce to kombucha and ready-made meals. The North Shore’s growing list includes Penny’s Quality Butcher, Maggio’s bakery, Hummerstons Meats, North Shore Green Grocer and Gumnut Chocolates.
“In April this year, Bundlfresh successfully raised $1m to expand the concept and support local food businesses in more areas,” says Matthew. He hints that Ryde and Macquarie Park will open in the coming months and is looking forward to growing and supporting the local communities there.
So jump on the website and start shopping across a great range of businesses with the convenience of next-day delivery, the enjoyment of great fresh produce and the satisfaction of supporting local. There’s even a great offer for you below!
