Applause Musical Theatre Academy

Do you consider your child/teen to be a performer? Was he/she born for the stage or needs to develop confidence? Applause Musical Theatre Academy specializes in weekly musical theatre classes and holiday workshops for school students.

The classes and workshops provide your child with an avenue to express him/herself creatively and build confidence across many areas, not just performing! Young performers learn to SING, DANCE and ACT scenes and songs from popular musicals. Vital drama skills are also taught through fun acting exercises.

With two qualified industry experienced musicians per class and live piano accompaniment, this is the real deal!

At the end of year soiree, all performers get at least one singing and acting solo! For those students who are really passionate about musical theatre and want to be challenged, they can audition to join our Triple Threat Troupe which frequently performs at community events and enters competitions.

In February 2017, the academy launched Applause4Tots – music and movement classes for babies and toddlers (from 0 to 6 years old) with a musical theatre twist! Classes are held in Willoughby on Tuesday mornings and in Gordon on Thursday mornings. Accompanied by a caregiver, young children will experience live music played by an experienced, professional tutor. Fun songs and the use of percussive instruments will teach important music concepts including pitch, rhythm and dynamics. Activities have been designed to allow young children to express themselves freely and creatively by acting, moving and dancing to songs from popular musicals as well as through original songs and nursery rhymes.

Why should the kids have all the fun? Last term Applause also started an Adult Musical Theatre class!

If you are aged 18+ and would like to unleash your inner creativity, get your toes tapping and be dramatic, come along to our Adult Class held on Sundays evenings in Chatswood.

In Term 2 2017 Applause is excited to launch a brand new class for Teens with Special Needs. This class will provide your teen with an avenue to express him/herself creatively and freely, and build confidence, not just in performing! Your teen will learn to SING, DANCE and ACT scenes and songs from popular musicals. FREE Trial Class on 4th May in St Ives.
