It’s the calendar event of the year for our canine companions! Get the doggie brush and comb out, trim those claws and put on pup’s best leash. Bark in the Park, is a paw-fect day out for dogs, their owners and all animal lovers!

The grass carpet will be rolled out for the first time at St Leonards Park, just up the road  from the North Sydney CBD, from 9.30am to 2.30pm on Sunday 5 June for Bark in the Park!

This bone-anza day of fun will be packed with dog demonstrations and expert talks, Yoga with your dog (Doga), a Mutt & Meow Market, food stalls, free kids activities, live music and  plenty of other activities for fur residents and their human companions to enjoy.

See Dr. Kate Adams the Bondi Vet in the Dogs on Show Arena or head to The Paw-dium  where your canine friends can try out their skills in an obstacle course and race the clock in time trials.

There will be prizes to be won on the day for the best dressed pet, an owner-pet look alike competition and for the best trick. There will also be a raffle and fundraising on the day to support Bark in the Park’s charity partner Sydney Dogs & Cats Home. Event Sponsor Pet Medical Milsons Point will be giving away free Magnetic Shots photo  magnets of happy snaps taken on the day.

North Sydney Mayor Zoë Baker said Bark in the Park is a great community event, not just for animal  lovers, but for families and friends as well.

“Brought together by our mutual love for our furry friends, the community love to spend the day at Bark in the Park every year with friends and family in our gorgeous St Leonards  Park.

“Come watch the amazing dog demonstrations, grab a bite at one of the delicious food stalls, buy a gift for your furry friend at the Mutt & Meow Market and more.

“Whether you own a dog or not, all are welcome to attend and enjoy the demonstrations,  talks and food stalls, live music and children’s activities.”

About This Year’s Ambassadogs

As always, North Sydney Council has selected some canines from the community to be the Bark in the Park Ambassadogs.

Dewey the 8-year-old rescue dog originally from Manila is a St Leonards Park regular,  gracing the park in his winter coats and sporting a big smile.

Hudson is a retired racing greyhound who now has a new career working as a registered therapy dog. The 4-year-old is sure to request pats from everyone he meets.

Neville the miniature dachshund is the puppy of the group not only in size but is only coming up to his first birthday. He is the quintessential man around town in Wollstonecraft and is a friend to anyone.
