Our local area could not be more front and centre of an upcoming star-studded TV show… it’s even been titled ‘North Shore’!

Subscription video giant Paramount + is set to produce an original crime thriller in Australia using the North Shore as both the title and location of the series. It’s set to star both
Game of Thrones alum John Bradley and Downton Abbey‘s Joanne Froggatt – two huge names that we can expect to see in our local suburbs as production gets underway this month.

According to Deadline, set on and around Sydney Harbour, North Shore follows the clash of cultures when British and Australian detectives team to solve a complex murder mystery, and uncover a conspiracy with international political consequences.

According to insiders, both the Harbour Bridge and Opera House will feature during filming

The series centres on Max Wylie (Bradley), a British detective who is sent to Australia to observe the investigation into the suspicious death of a young woman, the daughter of a British cabinet minister. Froggatt will play Abigail Crawford, a senior politician in the UK whose daughter goes missing which brings her to Australia to find her.

North Shore, which is slated to begin production mid-October in Sydney, is produced by Beach Road Pictures, and Gregor Jordan is directing. The series is financed in part by Screen Australia and also produced in association with ITV Studios, which will handle international distribution.
