From the original Kitchen by Mike Rosebery outpost where queues of eager diners would snake around the local streets for his canteen style eatery; to their Sydney Airport initiative (named best casual airport dining experience in the world); to the newer CBD location which opened in 2019, where diners can enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner… it’s the focus on the best local, seasonal produce, generosity and attention to flavour that sets Kitchen by Mike apart. Menus are set daily based on what the chefs find at the markets – the common thread to all menus is seasonality, simplicity and freshness.

Executive chef and founder Mike McEnearney is also Creative Director of Sydney’s famed Carriageworks Farmers Market (which receives 5,000 visitors every Saturday). Mike has created an authentic farmer’s market in an urban environment. He nurtures over 80 New South Wales artisan producers and champions the importance of buying local and forming a relationship with the food you eat and where it is from. This provides Mike with an intimate knowledge of New South Wales’ most exciting and diverse producers and allows him first pick to work with ingredients from across the region for both his CBD restaurant Kitchen by Mike and Kitchen by Mike at Home.
Silverbeet, brown rice & olive pie
Kitchen by Mike’s team has created a delicious at-home range that can be delivered straight to your door. Customers can order family size or smaller portion meals such as Wagyu beef shin and stout pot pie with suet crust, Meatloaf in tomato sauce, Moroccan lamb stew, chickpeas, rhubarb and sumac or a Sweet potato and red cabbage gratin. Also available are more regular Kitchen by Mike favourite’s such as Chicken liver pate, Twice
baked goat’s cheese soufflé, or Chilled vanilla rice pudding. Items are priced individually or you can opt for one of Mikes packs, Roast Chook, Lamb or the newly released Date Night Pack.
For a more plant-based diet KBM also have a growing range of vegan dishes including Silverbeet, brown rice and olive pie, Malaysian spiced coconut soup, Baked Cauliflower Tikka Masala or Mike’s rich and decadent beetroot and chocolate loaf cake. Mike even makes a vegan alternative to his Chicken liver pate – Mushroom, macadamia and juniper pate.

Mike’s legendary sourdough bread is available along with staples for the larder from his range of jams, chutneys and sauces. Pastured eggs from Kangaroo Valley, Cultured butter form Pepe Saya, the list is endless. You can also order both of Mike’s cook books Kitchen by Mike and Real Food by Mike.

It’s important to note that Kitchen by Mike at Home is unlike many other food delivery services in that the meals are delivered to you pre-cooked and ready to go (you are not just given the ingredients and asked to cook yourself). Most items can be kept in your freezer for up to three months, and can go from the freezer to the oven to the table in minutes.
As well as main meals, Kitchen by Mike at Home also has a rapidly growing breakfast section, Australian wine packs, beers and sodas, plus seasonal organic fruit and veg boxes which come in large and small and feature produce at the height of its season.
