A FREE eco playgroup supported by The Coal Loader Centre for Sustainability and North Sydney Council.

Calling all little adventurers aged 2-5! The Little Future Makers Playgroup is hosting a Wild Play themed event on Wednesday, March 6th, from 10:30 am to 11:30 am (more dates and locations available – see below). This eco-friendly play experience will spark your child’s creativity and love for the outdoors.

Children will enjoy a range of exciting activities, all centered around the theme of wild animals and their habitats. They’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Engage in playful activities that encourage exploration and discovery
  • Craft their own unique wild creatures to take home, using natural and upcycled materials
  • Learn about the importance of sustainability and caring for our environment.

The best part? All the materials used in the playshop are made from nature, reloved, upcycled, recycled, or sustainably made. So you can be sure your child is having fun while also learning valuable lessons about the environment.

Sally Giblin, co-founder of Be The Future, and the brains behind the Little Future Makers playgroup says, “The Coal Loader Centre for Sustainability recognised a need for playful sustainability activities for the youngest in our communities.”

“Kids love the colourful, playful invitations to play – especially our ice activities! Most little ones who attend get thoroughly absorbed, meandering between the different play trays over time,” explains Sally.

Be The Future began with a shared passion for tackling climate change in a positive and empowering way. Both working on a climate positivity campaign in the UK, Sally Giblin and Helen Hill recognised the need to combat the overwhelming negativity often associated with the issue. They envisioned creating something different, something filled with hope, humour, and play.

From a simple hashtag, #tacklethecrisis, their business evolved with an email and a lot of international collaboration. Utilising their unique skills and experiences, Sally, the award-winning environmental founder and podcast co-host, and Helen, the creative educator, joined forces to empower future generations.

Their commitment to “imperfect environmentalism” underscores their belief that progress, not perfection, is key to creating a brighter future. Through engaging experiences and storytelling, Be The Future equips families and educators with the tools to help rewrite the climate story, one playful step at a time.
