Fans of Willoughby Japanese restaurant Gochiso will notice an impressive update to its fitout and decor. But rest assured, nothing has changed when it comes to their phenomenal menu!
Owners Sang and Jee decided to renovate after 12 years to better reflect their customer base and what they wanted in 2023. A more intimate dining space has been created, one that caters equally well for couples on dates, to families, to group bookings.
Local artist Emiel was brought in to create a wall mural, having also completed the laneway mural for The Iceworks in 2021. The brief was for a quirky and distinctive design that was a blend of traditional Japanese-style graphics with a modern twist and incorporated the cloud and wave elements from the logo and the noren curtains in the venue.
After a brief closure for the refurbishment, Sang and Jee are excited to welcome the community back to Gochiso and showcase their new fitout. The menu retains all the favourites with changing weekly specials featuring seasonal ingredients.
