Holidays are here again and we’ve rounded up some amazing local activities including music, art, sport, scavenger hunts, cooking, swimming, resilience, performance and even a magic course. Plus there are early bird offers, giveaways and special deals for WL members!
Creative Sounds Music Camp, Willoughby
The Creative Sounds holiday camp is the perfect opportunity for kids of intermediate to advanced musical experience to meet and connect with other like-minded artists. Under the direct guidance of their own coach, they will form a band which works together in creating some awesome music!
Each day consists of a series of rehearsal sessions, with a focus on writing original music. There is also designated social time for the kids to hang out and enjoy their holiday!
At the end of the week they’ll have an opportunity to record and take home what they’ve created.
When: Week 1: July 8 – 11 Week 2: July 15 – 18
Good to Know: Each day runs from 9am to 3pm Monday to Thursday, with before and after care available. Snacks will be provided in the morning and afternoon break times. Kids will need to bring packed lunches, otherwise there are a number of reasonably priced cafes nearby on Willoughby Road. Drums, keyboards and amplification for guitars, bass and vocals are provided, and kids are encouraged to bring their own instruments. Ages 10+

Primrose Park Tennis Camps, Cremorne
Primrose Park Tennis is located on the northern side of Neutral Bay and Cremorne, at historic Primrose Park. Their popular school holiday tennis camps keep kids engaged and active, and they focus on fun as well as skills and drills. Each camp includes coaching, team events, games, and singles and doubles tournaments. There are trophies and sports awards and each child receives a cap.
Good to Know: Primrose Park Tennis Camps begin early so private school children have a great option from Monday 1sth-Friday 5th. Could your child’s resilience do with a top up? Are you keen for them to do something fun these school holidays AND learn important social and emotional skills at the same time? Send them to one of our popular Resilience Camps!
We’ll be helping 5-8 and 9-12yo children make good friendship choices and manage conflict in our Friendship Camps, learn how to manage their emotions in our Calm Camps, build their confidence in our Confidence Camps and boost their all-round resilience in our Resilience Bootcamps. Fun and play-based, your kids will LOVE them!
We do a range of activities in our camps, including drama, art, craft, storytelling, movement, breathing and games, and all our activities are framed by a story or metaphor. Our camps are run by deeply experienced Resilience Coaches who are skilled at responding to the unique needs of the group they are working with and flexing their approach accordingly – no two camps are ever the same.

Get a month’s worth of lessons in just one week! The school holidays are a perfect opportunity to fast track the swimming skills of preschool and school age children. And Carlile Swimming has the credentials to do that with more than 60 years experience and world renowned expertise in teaching children to swim well.
Our holiday Swimvac program is designed to boost confidence and consolidate skills through the intensive, daily repetition of lessons. Applause Musical Theatre Academy and the Maker’s Loft are once again collaborating this holidays to offer your children a Design and Performing Arts Workshop! Your children will sing, dance and act (learning songs from these movies and playing drama games too) plus make their own costumes, props and backdrop through innovative craft activities. Little Legends Sports, Willoughby
Little Legends Sports is legendary in the local area. They have been keeping kids fit, healthy and happy since 2004 with a variety of fun multisports programs, as the parents tell us “it’s the best way to entertain active kids during the holidays”. The program aims to build a lasting love of exercise by creating an environment where children can have fun with friends, while playing some of their favourite sports and games. All activities are suitable for both girls and boys of all athletic abilities.
Good to Know: For ages 4-12. Age groups and friends will be kept together. The program continues rain, hail or shine, with a large indoor area used during the day in case of bad weather. Children should wear suitable clothes for running around, as well as bring morning tea, lunch, a drink bottle, and a hat for outside play.

Adventure Camp, Northbridge and Balmoral
This year, we’re excited to be hosting our first ever Winter Adventure Camps – with new activities & challenges!
Our winter camps won’t be featuring any water activities or sailing (it’s going to be a bit chilly!), but instead, we’re putting together an “Amazing Race meets Survivor” style program for the 3 days.
The groups will have to navigate to various locations around Balmoral or Northbridge, and at each location they’ll be presented with a new challenge to complete. These challenges will involve building shelters, compasses, stretchers, and completing various navigation tasks and teamwork games. Once completed, they’ll get the instructions to head to the next location.
At the end of each day, the groups will get the chance to come together for a series of Team vs Team games also.

Big Music Holiday Rock Camp, Crows Nest
If your child has ever dreamed of being in a rock band, or just really likes music – Big Music at Crows Nest is the place to be these school holidays. Big Music has been running their Holiday Rock Camp program with great success, and all the staff are qualified musicians who are passionate about encouraging a love of music in their students. There’s no experience necessary with a course to suit all levels. The emphasis of the camp programs is on fun and participation in playing and performing popular music with other kids.
Good to Know: These popular Holiday Camps cater for all kids aged 5+ regardless of their prior musical experience. Each day runs from 9am to 3pm, culminating in a performance for family and friends on the last day. Places are limited and often sell out, so ROCK ENROL NOW!

Imagine a fun school holiday course that will not only assist children at school, but set them up with skills for life and increase their confidence. Sydney Speaking School uses their team’s combined skills and years of experience to create fun and engaging courses in Public Speaking, Debating and Presentation Skills. Lah Lah Stripy Sock Club Show, NORTHS Cammeray

NAIDOC Holiday Activities
Willoughby Council has put together some great school holiday activities to celebrate NAIDOC Week 2019. These include:
Bushland Adventures: Celebrate NAIDOC week by being in the bush. Kids will have fun preparing for an imaginary camping trip in the wilderness. Dress for bushwalking and bring a snack and water bottle. This walk is suitable for 5 year olds – 12 year olds only. Click here to book for Monday 8th July or here to book for Tuesday 9th July. Preschool Storytime at Chatswood Library – Celebrate Aboriginal Culture: Join us for preschool storytime celebrating Aboriginal culture, with stories, rhymes, songs and a simple craft activity. Suitable for children aged 3-6 years and their parent/carer. Numbers are limited – admission is on a first-come, first-served basis. On July 10 and July 11 at 11.15am. See here for further details
