If your fur friend would fancy a puppycino or puppy waffles next time you go for a play at Blackman Park, you’ll love this new cafe for dogs and dog lovers!

In exciting news for all dogs and their humans, Puppy Tail Cafe has opened at Blackman Park. It’s the sister restaurant to the popular Chew Chew Pet Restaurant in Wollstonecraft, an institution that puts man’s best friend at the front and centre of its offerings.

Both cafes are the brainchild of Naoko Okamoto, a pet nutritionist with years of experience working with animals. Naoko is brimming with enthusiasm about the new opening, “It’s such a great spot for doggies and their owners here. It’s my dream come true to open a place like this,” she says.

Naoko will divide her time between both cafes, with the Wollstonecraft outpost continuing to serve nutritious food for pets, and Lane Cove acting as a pit-stop for dog walkers. Hungry dogs can chow down on puppy waffles, and your furry friend can enjoy a puppycino while you grab the human version.

The new cafe offers a small outdoor seating area, perfect for a rowdy puppy get-together before some exercise in Blackman Park. The small building is brightly decorated with an amazing mural by local artist Matt McLarty, depicting the dog walking, sport and socialising that goes on at the park.

Blackman Park is fast becoming a hot spot for dog lovers. Both ovals can be used for off-leash exercise when there are no sporting activities, and in May last year a dedicated fenced dog park was opened. This area provides water, shade and agility training equipment. With the addition of Puppy Tail Cafe, it’s the perfect canine haven.

Puppy Tail Cafe is open seven days a week from 7am to 3pm. Located at Blackman Park, Lloyd Rees Drive, Lane Cove West
