Reddam House, a consistently top-ranked co-educational and non-denominational private school, will open it’s new campus in North Sydney in 2025.

This exciting development comes after years of success at their existing Bondi and Woollahra campuses, where they’ve garnered a reputation for academic excellence, innovative teaching methods, and a well-rounded student experience.

The new campus is in a unique location – the heritage-listed Simsmetal House. Designed by the renowned architect Harry Seidler and built in 1972, this eight-story building at 41 McLaren Street is currently a construction site, and is undergoing a transformation.  While currently an office block, it will be adaptively reused to create a vibrant learning environment for students from kindergarten all the way up to Year 12.

Despite initial concerns about traffic flow and sporting facilities, the project received approval from the NSW Department of Planning and Environment in November last year with some stipulations. A dedicated drop off/pick up area must be completed before the school opens in January 2025.

The school will boast premium facilities purpose-built for modern education including:

  • Stunning roof terrace with views of Sydney Harbour
  • Outdoor terraces with play areas
  • Senior resource centre and study rooms
  • Multiple libraries
  • 5 state-of-the-art science labs
  • Music studios with 12 practice rooms
  • Sports hall and auditorium
  • Bespoke arts, design & tech areas
  • Dance studios
  • Gym
  • Multipurpose breakout spaces

Inspired Education, who manage a portfolio of schools globally and operate the Reddam House brand in Australia, will take a 20-year lease over the 9,150sqm of floor space with an option for an additional 20 years.

Construction giant Built has been chosen to oversee the exciting transformation of Simsmetal House into a modern K-12 campus for Reddam House. This project is a collaboration between Inspired Education (Reddam’s parent company) and Keppel. The new campus, aiming to welcome its first students in 2025, will cater to 1,340 students across all year levels.

To achieve this, Built will oversee a significant expansion. The existing building will gain an impressive 1,650 square meters of dedicated learning space.  Additionally, the current carpark will be cleverly transformed into a multi-functional zone, serving as both a drop-off/pick-up area and an auditorium.

Students can look forward to a state-of-the-art learning environment featuring a performance space, theatre, and sports hall. Modern classrooms will be equipped with cutting-edge technology to support science and design learning. Rounding out the impressive facilities will be dedicated music rooms, drama and dance studios, and library.
