Sunset Cinema is back at St Ives Showground!

October 14, 2021

The North Shore’s favourite drive-in cinema makes its return on Thursday 28 October.

The Sunset Cinema will be one of first events to welcome movie lovers as restrictions in NSW begin to lift for the fully vaccinated.

With a spectacular stockpile of long awaited film titles including new comedy Free Guy, animated adventure Ron’s Gone Wrong and Marvel’s latest action Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, the public can once again experience movies on the big screen.

In true drive-in style the program also includes classics such as Grease and The Greatest Showman, plus a special opening weekend of Halloween-themed movies.

Inherently COVID safe, the drive-in cinema will return to the Showground on the evening of Thursday 28 October offering the enjoyment of a social experience from the comfort of your own car bubble.

Running Wednesday through to Sunday across six exciting weeks, patrons can savour the spring evenings with meals from the food trucks on site along with refreshing drinks, sweet treats and Sunset’s famous freshly popped popcorn.

“The Sunset Cinema is bringing entertainment back to Ku-ring-gai in a safe and contactless way,” said Ku-ring-gai Mayor Dr Cedric Spencer.

Gates open at 6:30pm with the movie starting at last light around 8:30pm. Based on multiple sold-out sessions last year, tickets are expected to sell out fast.
