The mystery of the Willoughby watermelons is about to be solved with an invitation below from St Thomas’…
“So, just what is with all the watermelons kicking around our neighbourhood at the moment? Every second car cruising down High St is sporting a bright watermelon on the back with the hashtag #whatswiththewatermelon. The annual St Thomas Art & Craft Show is on this weekend 26/27th of Oct and this year we are celebrating the longest standing stall, the watermelon stall!
Each Art & Craft Show weekend, the Watermelon Stand slices up thousands of chunks of watermelon and we just can’t get enough. This year, we celebrate the 44th Annual Show, and it’s the 44th year of running the famous Watermelon Stand. Always back by popular demand, and with summer just around the corner what better way to welcome it than with a slice of watermelon!
The St Thomas Art & Craft Show has continued to grow through its 40+ years to what you see before you over the weekend. There are a diverse array of stall offerings celebrating our proud St Thomas’ school, staff and students, including art and craft and plenty of entertainment with local music bands and dancers.
You will be able to smell the delicious and famous BBQ offerings from miles away with the open roasted BBQ next to the Art & Craft Hall. Right next door you can enjoy cakes, cupcakes, biscuits, jams and preserves from our very popular Baked Goods Stall.
If you love books, or you’re looking for gifts, the Books and Tombola are next to each other and are great fun to shop through. Be sure to also visit our brand new stall, ‘Are We There Yet’ showcasing beautiful hand-crafted gifts from rural NSW in support of our farmers and the drought.
Kids are well catered for with rides in the school playground coupled with our fantastic Kids Craft under the stairs.
To all of Willoughby, the surrounding community and your families, we thank you for your continued support of the St Thomas Art & Craft Show. We are very grateful for the time you spend with us every year and look forward to seeing you at the Show.”
The St Thomas’ Art & Craft Fair is on Saturday 26 October 9am-5pm, and Sunday 27 October 10am-3pm. Located on Horsley Avenue, Willoughby.
Be sure to post your show pics and tag #whatswiththewatermelon over the weekend.
