The prosecco was popping last week as the team at Braci celebrated a surprise but well-deserved accolade from Sydney’s top restaurant reviewers!
Braci Osteria + Pizzeria – located in The Iceworks on High Street Willoughby – has been a firm local favourite since opening in 2021. Known for their friendly vibe with top class food, wine and cocktails, they cater to an assortment of palates with their spuntini, pizza and pasta dishes.
Following last weekend’s review in the Good Weekend, Willoughby is now home to one of Sydney’s best pizzerias with people travelling across town to experience signature pizzas like the Killa Beez and Queen Envy.
They received 14.5 which is an incredible score for a neighbourhood pizzeria!
The reviews, which were conducted anonymously, occurred shortly after Braci’s 2nd birthday and the reviewing team included Callan Boys – editor of SMH Good Food Guide, restaurant critic for Good Weekend and Good Food writer.
The team were so pleased to have been selected for review and have been overwhelmed by the support and wishes from the Willoughby community following the article. People have even dropped by the restaurant just to say how pleased they are for the Braci team and how proud they feel that their favourite local pizzeria has been recognised.
Pizzaolo and co-owner, Chris Carlei, who learnt his craft at his family’s winery in Victoria, has spent years refining his dough to create the crisp chew appreciated by Callan Boys. But Chris said the journey does not end here – there’s no such things as perfection in his eyes.
While his business partner, Toby Robinson, who is Willoughby born and bred, said it is very humbling to get such a great review by The Good Food Guide which is THE authority on restaurants in NSW.
Says Toby of the review, “A step in the right direction to help put Willoughby on the map – not only a great place to live, but a fabulous place to eat, drink and have a great time. We are forever grateful for all of the local love and support and are super honoured to be recognised by Good Food and Good Weekend.”
