Thank you for joining the Willoughby Living Facebook Group and posting to the Lower North Shore community. All posts that celebrate/assist to make the most of living on the lower North Shore are very welcome. If you are posting a general enquiry, recommendation or public notice, please note:

  • Text should be 100 words or less, single spacing. No capital letters or bold text.
  • You can include one clear image (no logos or ads).
  • Please don’t make any negative comments regarding local businesses and services (these will be deleted by Admin). Any negative feedback should be sent directly to the business.
  • Please be respectful of other members at all times. Any comments that are disrespectful will be deleted.
  • Please keep posts/comments helpful, locally relevant and ensure they contain all the relevant information.
  • We encourage members to use the Willoughby Living website Noticeboard, or the local Buy, Swap, Sell pages for sale items instead of Willoughby Living Facebook Group.
  • If you’re posting an event please post as close to the event date as possible (within the week prior), unless you require RSVPs, in which case post just prior to RSVP date.
  • Members have expressed a dislike for ‘rant’ or whinge posts. If you have an issue with something in the local area please post with a call out for suggestions of solutions.
  • Any illegal suggestions will be deleted.
  • If you see any activity on the feed that doesn’t follow Group guidelines please click the ‘report’ button which drops down from the arrow top right of every post.
  • If you are unsure if your post is suitable for the Group please contact Admins, we are very happy to assist.
  • If you have any suggestions/feedback regarding the Group or website please contact Admins – do not post it on the Group. We are very happy to receive this sort of information via PM/email.

Advertising Posts

We love supporting our members in letting the lower North Shore community know about their local business, service or event. Please also get in contact for our post rate card and note that all advertising posts must be approved by admin prior to posting – see below for contact details.

Our post guidelines for businesses and services are:

  • This is a community group dedicated to sharing great local information, so please ensure copy is friendly and personable – don’t take a hard sell or gimmicky approach. It helps to begin with ‘Hi everyone’, or something similar.
  • Please ensure your text has all the necessary information for WL members – who, where, when, why, cost, the relevant contact information, etc.
  • You can include one quality pic. Please send this in jpeg or PNG format as an attachment with your post/advertisement submission. This pic should not be a company logo or ad.
  • Please include a Facebook page link and/or website link if you have them.
  • Please submit your post via email to either of the WL admins listed below, with ‘post request’ in the subject matter.
  • If your post has time constraints, please let us know in the email.
  • If the information in relation to your post changes at any time (such as an event/offer becoming booked out or cancelled), please let us know via email as soon as possible.
  • If you wish to ‘BUMP’ your post for any reason, please contact us first. Any posts that admin deem are being bumped without permission will be deleted or charged as further advertising.
  • Please feel free to contact us for permission to post again if you have a new event, or new helpful information for the group. However repeat posting/advertising isn’t usually permitted and any advertising that doesn’t have admin permission to post will be deleted.
  • Please consider offering a discount or some incentive to Willoughby Living members. It’s a great way for the community to try your product or service.
  • Please contact us if you would like to run a promotion/competition for members through Willoughby Living – we’re happy to discuss any enterprise that benefits our members and encourages them to support great local businesses.
